TV Is Running started to come about when I had the idea to create a Schweizerisch Amerikanische Freundshaft (SAF for short) track to be included in the tribute episode (on a weekly lobit Internet Radio show called the lowdown) for the late Mathias Aeschlimann. 

{Mathias (Gert 3000) and I had started SAF in 2019 as a fun little project where we generate MIDI files and send them to each other to do what we'd like with them. The SAF approach to making a track is basically about having fun experimenting with efficiency. In our short time together before his passing, we appeared on a Unicode Music compilation, released an EP on sub65, and even scored a remix on Tiholaz's Playing The Piano For Five Minutes which was released on Video Records. We hit the glorious ground running and had big plans to continue on} 

I went to the SAF pool of MIDIs that Gert 3000 had cooked up and sent over, and grabbed a couple of patterns that lay the bass and synth groundwork for what would become TV Is Running. The title of the track is a quote from a comment that Gert 3000 had once made in an email discussing SAF affairs. He also mentioned that Suits was playing on his TV at the time he was replying to me. 

The track wrote itself with great ease and the desire arose to continue further and create remixes of TV Is Running, but this time asking some friends of Gert 3000 to hammer out beats that would go on to drive and inspire the directions of the remixes. The whole experience creating the TV Is Running remix release has been very therapeutic for me, to which I gratefully accept as a gift. Thank you Davide Di Domenico, Genetic Trance, mhzesent, and Toxic Chicken for taking the time to cook up the beats for the remixes. I know Gert 3000 would be thrilled that one of the projects he started has a brand new release in which he posthumously fills a creative role along with a handful of his friends, and it brings me great joy and warmth that you all joined SAF in making this happen.
